CREDO Conference Administration Application

The CREDO Institute organizes and hosts over 31 conferences each year serving clergy (retired and active) and lay employees of the Church Pension Fund. Over 4,500 people have participated in the invitation only conferences, which are managed by 120 faculty and staff members. The rapid growth of the CREDO conference program over the past decade has overtaxed the processes for managing all of the people and logistics. Mind Over Data was commissioned to design a Conference Administration Application from the ground up to allow a handful of individuals the ability to administrate dozens of conferences and thousands of participants.

Each element of the application was designed with close participation from the CREDO staff, and their satisfaction was our number one priority. Our information architects crafted data models, processes and workflows while our developers constructed the necessary elements for the intuitive user interface and underlying systems. Adobe Flex with ColdFusion was selected as the platform of choice. ColdFusion allows for rapid development of complex back-end processes, and Flex provides the tools to create a cross-platform rich user interface deployed over the web. Mind Over Data also provides hosting services for the software, so the CREDO staff can ignore tasks such as maintenance and installation, and focus on using the software itself.

The Conference Administration Application was deployed for the 2009 conference season and has since managed hundreds of conference participants. Mind Over Data continues to provide service to the CREDO institute with regular maintenance and incremental upgrades to keep pace with their amazing growth.
